One of the advantages our Classic and Wooden Boat Festival enjoys is being located on the Great Lakes with the possibility of attracting large boats. This year we are thrilled to host Providence, a 1960 Mayflower Ketch designed by Angelman and Davies and built by American Marine at Junk Bay, Hong Kong. She’s 40′ on deck and 52′ overall, built of 1 7/8″ teak and powered by a Detroit 3-53 50 horsepower diesel. Her restoration is not yet complete, but she’ll be at the dock for our Festival. Here’s a chance to visit a truly terrific classic wooden sailing vessel right here in Sturgeon Bay.
